Rangers star John Lundstram beats Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou to flat in one of Glasgow's most upmarket streets

New Gers signing John Lundstram has scored an early season Old Firm winner – after getting the keys to a flat Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou had wanted.

The English midfielder and Australian coach were both looking for a place to live after arriving in Scotland this summer.

Both had their eye on a luxury three-bedroom apartment in Glasgow ’s swanky Park district costing more than £3000 a month.

But Lundstram, 27, moved into the property after Postecoglou, 55, “pulled out”, a Parkhead source said.

The flat is in one of the country’s most desirable areas and valued at around £600,000.

It is understood Postecoglou has moved into a nearby property.

A source said: “They both really fancied the flat.

“Lundstram got in just ahead of Postecoglou.

“The flat is magnificent and there’s a lot of wealthy people living near him who have got used to seeing footballers in the area.”

The off-field competition happened weeks ago and both are now settling into life in Glasgow.

After a slow start, Postecoglou seems to be finding his feet at Celtic.

In his first competitive game, Celtic drew 1–1 with Danish Superliga’s FC Midtjylland in a Champions League qualifier before losing 2-1 in Denmark.

After going down 2-1 to Hearts in their opening Scottish Premiership match, the Hoops secured a 6-0 victory over Dundee at Parkhead and a 7-2 aggregate win over Czech side Jablonec in Europa League qualifying.

Meanwhile, Lundstram hasn’t had too much to cheer about since moving to Glasgow.

The former Blades midfielder came on as a sub in the Light Blues’ 3-0 win in their league opener against Livingston at Ibrox.

That earned him a start in their Champions League qualifier against Malmo but they lost 2-1 in Sweden. His first Premiership start ended in a 1-0 loss to Dundee United.

He didn’t play in the 2-1 return leg defeat to Malmo.
