Rangers star in dream clash as loan side crash out of FA Cup to Arsenal

Ross McCrorie got a run out against Arsenal in a dream FA Cup clash last night.

The Rangers loanee played 90 minutes as Portsmouth lost 2-0 to the Gunners.

McCrorie, who is from Dailly in Ayrshire, was tasked with marking highly-rated Brazilian youngster Gabriel Martinelli as he featured at right-back.

Pompey went down 2-0 at against the Premier League side at Fratton Park, having almost made it to half-time goalless.

Their hearts were broken four minutes into first-half stoppage-time when Sokratis Papastathopoulos fired home for the visitors.

And then their fate was sealed when Eddie Nketiah blasted home to send former Gers star Mikel Arteta's side into the quarter-finals.

McCrorie is getting himself ready for a cup final next month when his Pompey side take on Salford City in the Leasing.com Trophy.
