Rangers star Ianis Hagi delivers brutal national team verdict when asked about Romania tactics

Ianis Hagi has expressed his frustration at the tactics he and his Romania teammates were sent out with in their Nations League defeat to Norway.

The Rangers playmaker indicated there was a breakdown in communication between the players and national team coaches on the night.

Norway won the match 4-0 with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland slamming home a hat-trick.

However Hagi reckons his side should have done much better on the night as they have players capable of doing some damage to the Norwegians.

Hagi said: "It is a result we did not expect, it is a big disappointment, but this is not the face of the national team.

"If we complain after every match, even after painful results, it's not good. We just have to look to the national team's next match.

"You should ask the manager about why we didn't have chances.

"You run after the ball for four or five minutes then when you have it at your feet you can't do anything. You lose your energy, your breath, and all you can do is draw a foul.

"We are at the beginning of the road with the new coach and we could not apply on the field what is transmitted to us from the sidelines.

"I'm very upset so I don't want to say anything stupid.

"Football is a collective sport. We didn't play well, you could feel it on the pitch and I'm sure you could see it on TV.

"When you don't play well collectively you can't be efficient individually. But I think we have players who can make a difference."
