Rangers star handed 'top player' billing by Jamie O'Hara as he makes Tottenham transfer pitch

Jamie O'Hara has hailed Ryan Kent as a 'top player' and insists he would have the Rangers winger at Tottenham.

The Light Blues star returned to Giovanni van Bronckhorst's starting team for the Champions League play-off clash with PSV at Ibrox last night. He showed his direct running and pace and flashes of skill throughout the contest as the sides shared four goals in the first meeting.

Ibrahim Sangaré opened the scoring after a scramble in the Rangers box following a corner. However, just three minutes later Antonio Colak had the home fans roaring after superbly turning home James Tavernier's low cross. Tom Lawrence tried his luck with a long-range free-kick in a moment to forget for Walter Benitez to give the Light Blues the advantage but Armando Obispo headed home from a corner to spare his team-mates blushes. The pair will go head to head next week in the Netherlands with the huge prize of reaching the group stages and the big financial windfall that comes with it.

Kent is sure to play a huge part in any success Rangers have in the return, and while he doesn't want to pull him away from Ibrox, former Tottenham man and talkSPORT pundit O'Hara is a huge fan and says he should be starring week in, week out in England's top league.

Speaking on The Sports Bar, he said: “I don’t want to pull him away from Rangers but I really like him, what a player he is.

“I would have him at Spurs.

“He should be in the Premier League, he is a top player.”
