Rangers star Glenn Middleton aims cheeky dig at the BBC over Youth Cup Final coverage

It's fair to say Rangers and the BBC haven't been the best of pals in recent years.

There's been some ill-feeling stretching back to 2015 after reporter Chris McLaughlin was banned from Ibrox and relations have remained frosty ever since.

The club have also hit out at alleged unfair coverage of Alfredo Morelos and a group of fans even protested out side the national broadcaster's office in Glasgow this year.

And now winger Glenn Middleton has become the latest to take a pop following the club's Youth Cup Final victory over Celtic on Thursday.

The young Rangers side triumphed 3-2 over their city rivals in a hotly contested clash that showcased the cream of young Scottish football talent at Hampden.

The BBC posted a video on Friday that showed Rangers' Kai Kennedy going down injured off the pitch, before claiming he shuffled back on in an attempt to have the game stopped.

Some Rangers fans took exception to the post before Middleton himself got involved.

Replying to the post, he simply Tweeted "3-2 Rangers" with an emoji blowing a kiss from his official account.

Middleton was one of a group of Rangers stars who took in the victory at the national stadium alongside boss Steven Gerrard.

Rangers were 2-0 up inside seven minutes via goals from Ciaran Dickson and Dapo Mebude, but Celtic hit back in the opening moments of the second period through Cameron Harper and Paul Kennedy.

But Nathan Young-Coombes header sealed victory for the Ibrox youngsters - their first Youth Cup win for five years.
