Rangers star Glen Kamara opens up on Christian Eriksen collapse as he admits players didn't want to continue

It was one of the most horrifying moments football has seen in a long time as Christian Eriksen fell to the ground and needed urgent medical attention.

People were glued to their TV screens and social media waiting for news on his health and the image of the Denmark players providing a human shield as their friend received treatment will live long in the memory.

For Glen Kamara, he was on the pitch as it happened. It was a tough day for the Finland midfielder and he admits none of the players wanted to get back out on the field.

His country ended up winning the game but he reckons there was nobody who wanted to play out the game after what had happened to Eriksen.

The Rangers star was vital for his country at Euro 2020 and although that was their only win of the three games, he insists they would have stayed off the pitch if they could.

The Ibrox hero was part of the Finland squad that applauded the Denmark players back on and he insists everyone who played deserves immense credit for getting the game going again.

He told RangersTV: "I know most of the boys didn’t want to play on and it was a difficult one to come back out.

"I praise everyone who came back out and we’re really happy he’s okay.

"You never want to see stuff like that happen on the pitch, it was a hard one to take but credit to everyone who came out and played on."

Kamara is back at Rangers after international duty and is likely to play for Steven Gerrard's side across the games against Brighton and Real Madrid this weekend.
