Rangers star completes £4.5m transfer exit, confirmed by club

Mo Diomande has moved to Turkish club Corum FK for £4.5 million.

The 24-year-old Ivorian midfielder joined Rangers from FC Nordsjælland in January 2024.

He was entering the final two years of his contract at Ibrox.

Diomande started the first two games of the season and was a half-time substitute in Sunday's 2-1 defeat against Hibs.

However, he became a bit-part player under Russell Martin and eventually lost his place under Danny Rohl's management.

Nedim Bajrami and Oliver Antman are the most high-profile exits so far, with several other players, including Ross McCausland, Lyall Cameron, and Clinton Nsiala, available for transfer.

Rangers will replace Youssef Chermiti after he suffered an ACL injury against Hibs.

There is also mounting pressure to bolster the defence after Tuur Rommens was ruled out for up to two months.

McInnes said: "Obviously, with Tuur’s injury, we have been looking at various options.

"That is ongoing.

"We have got to get into the nuts and bolts of that.

"We are trying to bring wingers in.

"It is in the hands of the recruitment team to try to get that over the line."

The Rangers boss added the club are "playing with fire" on defensive cover.

Injuries to Rommeens and Ben Godfrey mean that only four first-team defenders are currently fit.

Rangers are still expected to target a winger following a move for PSV winger Couhaib Driouech, which is close to completion.
