Rangers squad revealed for Stranraer clash as Jordan Jones looks to make starting XI return

Rangers will be without James Tavernier for their Scottish Cup clash with Stranraer on Friday night.

The Ibrox skipper had a procedure on an appendix issue earlier this week and will miss at least two weeks of action.

That means Nathan Patterson could get a run out at right back against League One side Stranraer as Rangers begin their cup quest.

Jordan Jones will be looking for his first start since returning from his lengthy injury.

Alfredo Morelos is banned for the Ibrox tie while Greg Stewart is a doubt with a tight calf.

Defender George Edmundson has been promised a start as Steven Gerrard prepares to give his fringe men a game but Filip Helander (foot) is still another month away from returning.

Predicted lineup

Rangers provisional squad:

Edmundson

Goldson

Patterson

Katic

Jack

Aribo
