Giovanni van Bronckhorst looked on in horror as the Rangers team he was about to inherit suffered Hampden humiliation against Hibs.
The Dutchman could do little about it as the players who were prepared by ‘B’ team management staff ahead of him taking control turned in a miserable display.
But Van Bronckhorst has turned things around in the two games since after leading the Light Blues to a win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League and Livingston in the league.
Now the champions head back across the M8 for a revenge mission against Jack Ross and his side with an exciting Easter Road clash.
Even if the personnel won’t be drastically different from those who took the field at Hampden, the attitude and tactics most certainly will.

Van Bronckhorst has tinkered with things - adopting a 4-2-3-1 formation for Livi and that seemed to work well with Joe Aribo thriving.
He has no injury or suspension concerns from the weekend and could even welcome back Kemar Roofe with the striker not sighted in almost a month for his club.
Van Bronckhorst said: “We have no fresh injuries, nothing important to report. Hopefully, Kemar Roofe comes through on Wednesday and can hopefully be part of the squad.”
Defender Leon Balogun is still not ready to return from his knock, Filip Helander will return to full training next month after knee surgery and Nnamdi Ofoborh (heart issue) is also still missing.
