Rangers squad revealed as Alfredo Morelos left sweating over Steven Gerrard reprieve

Steven Gerrard will leave it late before deciding if the time is right to reintroduce Alfredo Morelos to the Rangers squad.

The Colombian was missing from the starting 11 and substitutes in last weekend's win over Kilmarnock and his manager claimed he lacked focus in training amid speculation of a move to Lille.

Between the sticks Jon McLaughlin hasn't conceded in the league since he started standing in for regular No.1 Allan McGregor and the pair of keepers will compete for the starting slot.

Leon Balogun is back from a quad strain but the comeback target for Joe Aribo (ankle) and Jermain Defoe (hamstring) has been pushed back to Dundee United's Ibrox visit after the international break, while Nikola Katic (knee) is a long-term absentee.

Meanwhile, Hamilton midfielder Will Collar is back training with the first team for the first time this season but will not be ready to play in Saturday's game.

The 23-year-old has been out with a shin problem and will take part in a friendly match next week.
Club captain Brian Easton is still out following ankle surgery.

Potential line-up

Provisional squad

McGregor, Tavernier, Bassey, Edmundson, Helander, Balogun, Goldson, Hagi, Jack, Davis, Itten, Firth, Kent, Murphy, Patterson, Kamara, Morelos, Barker, Jones, Stewart, Roofe, Kennedy, Barisic, McLaughlin, Mayo, Barjonas, Arfield, Middleton
