Rangers set to miss out on Renato Tapia according to player's agent

Rangers look set to miss out on summer signing target Renato Tapia, according to the players agent.

The 24-year-old Peruvian international announced his imminent departure from Dutch club Feyenoord on Instagram in the past few days, with a host of clubs in Europe and in Mexico keen to secure his signature.

The player's father confirmed to Peruvian media outfit Ovacion that Rangers were among various clubs interested in him, including Celta Vigo and Angers in France.

But now, according to agent Carlos González, Tapia is almost certain to joining the La Liga side, after he admitted to Peru paper Exitosa Noticias (as noted by El Desmarque) that the deal is almost done save for "a few loose ends".

Tapia has over 50 caps for his national side since making is full debut back in March of 2015. And he himself avoided responding to the rumours linking him to Celta after they began to surface last month, telling journalist César Vivar Miranda in an interview on Instagram, "I prefer not to fill my head with these things because then I lose focus".
