Reports coming from France suggest Rangers could be set to join Celtic in a prestigious pre-season tournament hosted by French side Lyon.
French publication Le Progrès report that the Ibrox side have joined Celtic in "advanced talks" to join another Ligue 1 side in the four club curtain-raiser.
The other French team likely to join will be either Nice or Rennes.
There is no suggestion the bitter rivals would play each other, with each Glasgow team facing the two Ligue 1 outfits.
The matches will take place at the Groupama Stadium starting July 16 and ending two days later on the 18th.
And Lyon are reportedly hoping up to 5,000 fans may be able to attend each match despite coronavirus restrictions.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas had wanted PSG to join the action but Les Parisiens have decided to go down another route.
Record Sport revealed on Friday they will face Celtic in a friendly after the tournament has been completed.
France's Ligue 1 and the Scottish Premiership are amongst the only leagues in Europe to finish their season with games to play due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The leagues in both countries have faced legal action from relegated clubs over their demotion to a lower tier.
