Rangers set for transfer talks as Light Blues to speak with football heavyweights at summit

Rangers are set to discuss transfers with a host of football heavyweights at TransferRoom's signing summit this summer.

It's been a busy summer of incomings at Ibrox so far and while there's just fine tuning to be done to Giovanni van Bronckhorst's squad after seven arrivals, there's still the potential for exits to be had. Alongside Aberdeen, Dundee United, Hearts, Motherwell and Ross County, Rangers will head to a summit on August 1st where some of the biggest clubs in the world meet virtually to discuss transfers, the Daily Record reports.

Ross Wilson is a big advocate of the platform - which has been dubbed Virtual Deal Day' - and previously addressed other clubs as a keynote speaker at a previous event. Clubs across the Premiership are casting their nets far and wide for transfers, highlighted by a recent influx of Australian talent arriving from the A-League.

Wilson said of the format: "It is a significantly strong tool for us in the loan market. It lets us see where we may send some of our young players or those who may not be part of our squad for the coming season.

"TransferRoom helps us be connected to the market, more than we could if the tool didn't exits. We enjoy the collaboration we have club-to-club.

"What we want to do as part of us pushing forward is that we have developed a strong loan model in Scotland and the UK. What we are open-minded to is how that develops with partners in Europe."
