Rangers sent Europa League warning as Sparta Prague boss out to 'put them in trouble'

Sparta Prague boss Pavel Vrba reckons his team can put Rangers in "real trouble" if they beat them in their next game.

Sparta played out a 0-0 draw with Brondby in their opening game while Steven Gerrard's team went down 2-0 to Lyon.

It's early in the group with just one game played and there is plenty of time for Rangers to recover and reach the knockout stage of the Europa League.

Vrba, however, has warned his team are out to put the Scottish Premiership champions in "serious trouble" by beating them when they meet in the Czech Republic on 30th September.

He said: "Getting a point in Denmark was no bad thing. We know what we need to do to be successful in this group.

"It's very important in the group stage how we start. Well, we play Rangers next and if we beat them we will have four points and they will have none. So, we have the chance to really put them in a lot of trouble if we win.

"The game against Rangers at home could be the most important match in the group.

"Brondby are a good team too. They have a lot of good players too and their supporters are noisy. They will pick up points in the group too for sure.

"But I have to say I am very satisfied at this point. We are in a good position in the group if we beat Rangers."
