Rangers' Scottish Cup clash with Hamilton moved as Accies back mental health initiative

The Scottish Cup fifth round tie between Hamilton Academical and Rangers will now kick off at 12.31pm, as the hosts confirm a slight delay to kick-off to encourage supporters to talk about mental health.

The English FA Cup's fourth round matches were all put back by one minute last month, as part of their 'take a minute' campaign to promote discussion about what has become a taboo subject - especially among men.

And Hamilton have announced that their fifth-round tie with Rangers at the Fountain of Youth stadium, initially pencilled in for a 12.30 kick-off on Saturday, will follow suit.

Hamilton Accies chief executive Colin McGowan said: "Our Scottish Cup tie against Rangers on Saturday will kick off now at 12.31pm.

"We will start one minute later to urge you to 'take a minute' to talk to your friends and fellow supporters, to help us break down the stigma and encourage conversation around mental health.

"For other teams this may be a new initiative, but at Accies we are always supportive of such causes.”

It's unclear as yet if the other matches in the round, which include Aberdeen vs Kilmarnock later that day and Celtic's trip to Clyde on Sunday, will follow suit.
