Rangers have confirmed the decision to sack Russell Martin with a club statement released.
The Ibrox side parted company with the manager after the 1-1 draw with Falkirk on Sunday.
Martin had to be escorted from the stadium amid protests over his position with the team bus held up by supporters furious over an awful start to the season.

Hours after the match, Rangers chiefs acted to dismiss Martin with coaches Matt Gill and Mike Williamson also leaving the club.
In the statement, the club stated Martin and his backroom staff had "worked exceptionally hard" during their tenure, which is the shortest of any permanent manager in the club's history.
However, it was deemed that the results had "not met the club's expectations", leading to the sack decision on Sunday night.
