Rangers played out a goalless draw with West Ham United this afternoon as they concluded their pre-season preparations.
The Ibrox outfit were kept out by the EFL Championship side as they attacked for the most part and had plenty of opportunities only for goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.
But it was their defensive strength that had Rangers TV co-commentator Maurice Ross purring as he singled out one star for specific praise for his efforts.
And that was new loan signing Ben Godfrey who shackled the forward players for the Irons and looked comfortable doing so.
Ross applauded the centre-half, on loan from Atalanta, for his performance and described him as a Rolls-Royce at the back for his team.
After one challenge in particular on the Hammers' captain Jarred Bowen, Ross waxed lyrical about the defender, saying: "He is a Rolls-Royce. What a signing by the way.
"He was so keen to go and nail him (Bowen). I've been really impressed by him today."
Godfrey joined on a season-long loan but the Ibrox giants have the chance to land the player on a permanent deal for around £3.8million.
