Rangers return to the Champions League snapped up for TV as Premier Sports announce double header plan

Rangers fans have been given a boost after their long-awaited Champions League return was selected for live TV.

Premier Sports have already ramped up their Scottish football coverage this season and have even become the new name sponsor of the League Cup - which is now the Premier Sports Cup.

They have already gained the rights for Celtic's Champions League qualifier double header against Midtjylland, and now they have the same for Steven Gerrard 's side.

Swedes Malmo won the right to face the Premiership champions in the third round by defeating Helsinki on Tuesday.

But there is no away ticket allocation and Gers fans can at least now catch the action live on TV.

The first leg will take place in Sweden on Tuesday, August 3 with coverage starting from 5.30pm.

The second leg a week later on Wednesday, August 10 at Ibrox with coverage kicking off at 6.30pm.

It marks Rangers first bid for the group stage in a decade, when they were coincidentally sent out of the competition by Malmo.
