It’s never a good thing when you’re being whistled at by an umpire from over 400 feet away.
On Wednesday, the Texas Rangers were visiting the Colorado Rockies for an afternoon game as August comes to a close. In the bottom of the first, play was suddenly halted by the umpire when he realized things weren’t as they should be in the outfield.
Hovering in the outfield batter’s eye — the clear center field area used to help a batter’s vision at the plate — was the Rangers’ reliever crew just standing there watching the game! Hilariously, they were shooed away by the whistling of the umpire and their own teammate out in center field before play resumed.
can't stop laughing at the rangers relievers getting in trouble for standing in the batter's eye, and then running away like racoons caught rooting through the trash pic.twitter.com/Ikkfk58fZo

The best part is the Rangers’ relievers scurrying away like ants when you turn the lights on in your kitchen. Back to the bullpen with you!
