Rangers recruit Rabbi Matondo delights fans with 'WATP' move as new signing settles into Glasgow

New Rangers signing Rabbi Matondo has already won over a section of his new club's support with numerous social media nods.

The Light Blues have made the Welsh international their fourth summer signing after John Souttar, Antonio Colak, and Tom Lawrence, with Matondo arriving from Bundesliga club Schalke. He had an impressive campaign out on loan at Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge last season and now arrives at Ibrox to help them in their Premiership title bid and upcoming Champions League qualifiers.

Following his official unveiling Tuesday, the former Manchester City youngster has moved quickly to show he knows all about his latest club, displaying the famous Rangers slogan WATP (We are the People) in his Twitter bio, an account which holds around 25.4k followers.

The new Gers winger has also included it in several tweets and Instagram posts - as well as updating his story no less than 30 times after his move to Scotland.

One fan exclaimed 'I love you already' while another commented 'if he is as good as his bio...'

Matondo said: "I’ve come to Rangers knowing that they play in Europe mostly every year and obviously that’s a big attraction for any player.

"So, of course, I’ve come here looking to play in those big games.

“I feel like I have some good attributes I can bring to the team and hopefully create some memories not just for the team but also for the fans."
