Rangers ranked football's 'new normal' kings as the no fans effect laid bare across Europe

Rangers are one of only two top-flight teams in Europe to boast a sustained 100 per cent home record behind closed doors.

Steven Gerrard's side sit 23 points clear at the Premiership thanks largely to imperious form at Ibrox.

They've won all 12 of their home league fixtures despite fans being locked out and are matched only by Norwegian outfit Bodø/Glimt.

A study conducted by the CIES Football Observatory tracked top-flight teams who have played at least 10 home matches since April 2020.

Domestic football in Scotland did not resume until August, from which time Rangers have been flawless on their own turf.

They've averaged 3.17 goals per match and conceded just 0.08.

For context, La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid have an 86.7 per cent win rate with no fans, while Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain come in at 83.3 per cent and 72.1 per cent, respectively.

English Premier League leaders Manchester United have won just 46.2 per cent of their home fixtures behind closed doors.

In Scotland, Celtic have a 63.6 per cent win rate, with Aberdeen at 61.5 per cent.

Three clubs in the Premiership - Motherwell, Ross County and Hamilton - share the lowest percentage at just 16.7.
