Rangers price crash as Celtic pre-match uncertainty leads to major betting shift

Rangers are being backed at the bookies for a second consecutive win at Parkhead for the first time in over 25 years.

Steven Gerrard's side remain the underdogs at 15/8 but Celtic's odds have shortened from 1/1 to 31/20 amid their Covid nightmare.

The virus has ruled out Ryan Christie, Nir Bitton and Hatem Elhamed and talisman Odsonne Edouard is a major doubt after testing positive for the virus last week.

And those developments have led to punters piling in on Steven Gerrard's Rangers side ahead of the Premiership showdown on Saturday.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “With Celtic facing a number of key missing players, odds have continued to tumble on Celtic winning the first Old Firm of the season.

“Neil Lennon’s men were 1/1 favourites just six days ago but have now drifted out to 31/20 with some bookies.

“In percentages, that means bookies estimations have slid from a 50 per cent implied chance of winning to 39.2% since Edouard’s coronavirus news.”
