Rangers pre-season plans in full as Steven Gerrard's men step up Premiership preparations

Rangers will step up their pre-season preparations with games against two English lower league sides in July.

The club have announced three friendlies which will kick-off with a game against Partick Thistle next week, before trips south of the border.

They’ll take on English League Two side Tranmere as well as Championship new boys Blackpool in two away trips.

Sandwiched between that will be their game against Arsenal at Ibrox as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations, with a hint of a big match to round off their pre-season plans in the final weekend before the season begins.

Steven Gerrard’s men returned to Auchenhowie today for pre-season training with those not involved in international duty undergoing a variety of tests.

And now they know who they will play as they prepare for the new campaign which kicks off in little over a month’s time.

Rangers say they hope to have fans back in Ibrox and at away games but have urged supporters not to make any plans for summer fixtures just yet.

And they’ll also welcome supporters to Ibrox for an open training session on July 23 where fans can get a glimpse of their heroes.
