Rangers' potential UCL foes set to sign former transfer target

Club Brugge look set to sign a former Rangers transfer target just in time before the teams potentially meet.

Russell Martin's side are looking to progress through to the play-off round of the Champions League tonight when they aim to finish off the job against Viktoria Plzen.

Rangers are 3-0 up on the Czechs at the halfway point in the tie.

In the play-off, Rangers could potentially face either Club Brugge or Red Bull Salzburg, with the former hold a slender 1-0 lead heading into tonight's return leg in Belgium.

So, should both Rangers and Club Brugge get through their respective ties, then the Ibrox could could well come up against someone who looked like he would be a Gers player last season.

That's because they are closing in on a deal to sign Samuel Edozie from Southampton.

Rangers tried to sign the winger on deadline day last summer, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute, with Martin the Saints boss at the time.

Renowned European football expert, Sacha Tavolieri, reports that Club Brugge are in talks over a deal to sign Edozie.

He wrote on X: "EXCLUSIVE: Sam Edozie chose for Club Brugge!

"Seduced by the project, Edozie wants to return in JPL before step up to a Top 5 League, like Racing Strasbourg.

"Edozie now wants Southampton FC to accept Blauw-Zwart next bid. Saints asking for €10M."
