Rangers players ratings vs Kilmarnock as Alfredo Morelos star of the show in Rugby Park win

Michael Beale extended his unbeaten record as Rangers boss after a comeback win over Kilmarnock.

The Light Blues boss made some changes from the team that went 120 minutes in the League Cup semi-final with Aberdeen on Sunday as Kemar Roofe's extra-time winner sent the Ibrox men into the final. But it was back to league duty and it was a horror start for the visitors at Rugby Park as Chris Stokes headed home from a corner after just six minutes.

However, Alfredo Morelos levelled with a low finish after excellent play from Fashion Sakala to set him up midway through the first-half. Just five minutes into the second period and the game was turned on its head as Ryan Kent found the bottom corner after picking up on a Morelos lay-off into the box. Danny Armstrong was then sent off for the hosts on the hour for two yellow cards with the visitors making sure of the win as Morelos grabbed his second of the night with a close-range header before Sam Walker's excellent low save denied him his hat-trick. Joe Wright grabbed a late second for the hosts with a stunning volley but it wasn't enough as Rangers held out. Here's how we rated the away side in Ayrshire.

Jon McLaughlin - 6

Given the nod once again. His strength of coming to claim crosses a big reason for his inclusion but didn't cover himself in glory at opening goal or previous corner. A few decent saves and did better with deliveries into box as game went on.

James Tavernier - 7

Skipper constantly up and down. Never shys away from the ball. Higher position adopted under Michael Beale suits game. Key role in build-up play to Morelos goal.

Connor Goldson - 6

Good headed chance from corner well saved. Loves his cross-field pass. Excellent range and vision from the back. Defended well against the two big strikers.

Ben Davies - 6

In beside Goldson once again as the first-choice duo continue to strike up partnership. Dealt well with Kyle Vassell and Christian Doidge physical presence.

Borna Barisic - 7

Worked hard going up and down and always available to put in a cross. Took a sore one from Danny Armstrong that lead to his red card. Decent performance. Another assist for Morelos' second goal.

Glen Kamara - 6

One of the changes to the starting team in place of Ryan Jack. Similar style players. Always calm in possession and looking for ball. Booked.

John Lundstram - 6

Covered plenty of ground but not his best game in a Rangers shirt. Doesn't shy away from a tackle.

Scott Arfield - 6

In from the start for his big chance. Will feel unlucky not to start before now. Quiet evening.

Fashion JR - 7

Brilliant start under Michael Beale. A key man for Rangers. Pace to burn. Provided assist after excellent spin behind.

Ryan Kent - 7

Clearly a quality player and needs to produce more often. Fired crucial second goal. Needs more goals and assists. Booked.

Alfredo Morelos - 8

Big role to play with Kemar Roofe and Antonio Colak sidelined. Grabbed an important leveller and set up Kent goal before heading home his second of the night. Denied hat-trick by brilliant low save. Booked. Subbed.

Subs

Malik Tillman - 4

On for final 12 minutes after run of starts in the team. Been a star performer for Rangers this season. Denied goal by wonderful Sam Walker save.

James Sands - 2

On for the final stages at Rugby Park. Too late to make a real impact.
