Rangers player ratings vs Aberdeen as Scott Arfield keeps title hopes alive in dramatic fashion

Rangers' title hopes looked all but over before Scott Arfield netted an added-time double to secure a dramatic win at Aberdeen.

Michael Beale got off to the perfect start last week with a comeback win over Hibs in Govan and his side replicated that once again as they came out on top on a five-goal thriller for the second successive game. It brings the Light Blues to within six points of Ange Postecoglou and Celtic ahead of their clash with Livingston at Parkhead on Wednesday night.

Fashion Sakala - who made it two goals in two games and looked one of Rangers' main threats - grabbed the opener at the second attempt but a Duk free-kick on the stroke of half-time and a stunner from Leighton Clarkson turned the game on its head for Jim Goodwin's men. The home side looked on course for a massive three points before the incredible scenes as supersub Arfield stepped up and sent the away fans wild and the home fans into a state of disappointment and disbelief. Here's how we rated the away side.

Allan McGregor - 5

Questionable at free-kick. Beaten at his side. No chance with second. Not his best evening.

James Tavernier - 5

Quiet night from the skipper. Full of running but no real impact on this one.

Connor Goldson - 6

Welcomed return after two months out. Huge boost for Rangers. Will play a key role in the weeks and months to come.

James Sands - 5

His foul in build-up to Duk leveller. Booked. Replaced on the hour.

Adam Devine - 6

A second successive appearance at left-back. Natural right-back got up and down and didn't look out of place. Did well.

Glen Kamara - 5

Back in favour under Beale. Very much fancied during first spell at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard. Two starts in a row but not his best game here. Subbed.

Ryan Jack - 6

Up against his old club with Michael Beale saying he is in Rangers best XI at present. Big pre-match boost. Battled away. Booked. Subbed.

Malik Tillman - 6

Bags of ability. Showed some silky footwork. Needs to show his class more often. Fades in and out.

Fashion JR - 7

Two goals in two games under Michael Beale. Excellent start and a new lease of life. Always a threat with his speed. Subbed on the hour.

Ryan Kent - 6

Always looks dangerous when he gets running at players. Faded out game in second period. Still waiting for the Kent of old to reappear on the scene.

Alfredo Morelos - 6

Heavily involved in the first goal as he set up Sakala to finish at second attempt. Denied well by Roos moments later.

SUBS

Ben Davies - 3

On for the final 30 minutes to partner Goldson as he steps up injury return.

Scott Arfield - 9

On to try and turn the game around and boy didn't he just. An incredible injury-time double to pick up a big win. Missed two earlier chances. What a display.

John Lundstram - 3

Will feel unlucky to have started this one on the bench. Involved in second half flashpoint. Booked.

Scott Wright - 3

Like Jack, up against his old club with an appearance off the bench.
