Rangers player ratings as Antonio Colak's winner in Eindhoven qualifies Light Blues for Champions League

Rangers player ratings as Antonio Colak's winner in Eindhoven qualifies Light Blues for Champions League

Jon McLaughlin 7

He made a couple of crucial saves during the match from Gakpo and de Jong. Commanded his box well throughout.

James Tavernier 8

The Rangers captain was strong in the tackle from the beginning of the game. Read crosses well and provided a constant out ball when going forward. His passing was also very consistent.

Connor Goldson 7

Helped hold a strong defensive line for the away team. Defended solidly. An improvement on his performance from last week.

James Sands 7

Despite being caught under the ball a few times, the American was excellent. He commanded his box and made sure when the build-up play started from the back that he always looked to play the ball forward.

Borna Barisic 6

At times he struggled to get forward but was solid defensively. He did make a few rash challenges, though and received a booking during the 90 minutes.

Glen Kamara 8

Went out of his way to always be an option for a pass. Also helped break up PSV attacks. He was great on the half turn, and many of the Light Blues' best moments came through him.

John Lundstram 7

Put himself out there and broke up the attack several times. Put a shot inches wide in the first-half where he might've hit the target. However, his passing was consistent, and he done the hard yards.

Tom Lawrence 8

The Welshman was picking up pockets of space. Pressed well. Put in a couple of excellent crosses. His passing was also very accurate. He rattled the bar as well in the first half with a chance that ultimately ended up offside. He was very effective before being subbed with 17 minutes to go.

Ryan Kent 7

The Englishman may not have been influential in the winner but still provided an attacking threat throughout. He also won a few countless fouls that allowed the Gers to slow down the game while under pressure.

Malik Tillman 9

Showed promise right from the start by running at the opposition. His touch and poise was sensational. He had the home side on the backfoot from the beginning. Got the assist after winning the ball in the box and playing it, Colak.

Antonio Colak 9

Once again favoured to Alfredo Morelos, who was left out of the squad. Good at holding up the ball and being a handful. He was excellent at getting in behind and stretching the PSV defence. Scored the winning goal after capitalising on a defensive mistake.

Substitutes

Scott Arfield (for Kamara, 73) 4

Was not involved much when he came on apart from being fouled. Did the necessary defensive work.

Scott Wright (for Lawrence, 73) 3

Put in a shift as Rangers ran down the clock.

Fashion Jr (for Colak, 91) 2

Had no time to affect the game.
