Rangers player ratings as Alfredo Morelos slammed for shocking display

Rangers look set to finish the season without a trophy after losing 2-1 to Celtic at Parkhead.

Alfredo Morelos was the villain of the piece as he was sent off for the visitors in the first half after his moment of madness when he lashed out at Scott Brown.

Ryan Kent stood up to the challenge and netted an equaliser for the 10-men but James Forrest's late strike condemned Rangers to defeat.

The winger was lucky not to see red for punching Brown but there was plenty to like about the second half display from Steven Gerrard 's side.

Here's our man Michael Gannon's Rangers ratings from the game which looks to have sealed the Hoops the title.

Allan McGregor

Looked a little nervy early on with a couple of spills but settled down and had no chance with the goals. 6

James Tavernier

The two sides of the skipper summed up by two goals. Terrific pass for the leveller but made a mess of Celtic’s winner. 7

Joe Worrall

Left tied in knots for Edouard’s opener and struggled to contain the French frontman most of the afternoon. 5

Scott Brown and Andy Halliday clash at the end (SNS Group)

Connor Goldson

Also culpable in the first goal and guilty of giving the ball away too often but held firm when his side were under the cosh. 6

Andy Halliday

A difficult day with Forrest on his case. Threatened to boil over long before the end but then completely lost it after the final whistle. 6

Ross McCrorie

Ryan Kent celebrates (PA)

Took a while to find his feet but impressive during the Rangers push after the break. 7

Ryan Jack

Struggled to contain Celtic in the opening half but got a grip after the break and missed a gilt-edged chance to grab a stunning winner when he fired over the bar. 7

Scott Arfield

Scott Brown and Scott Arfield (SNS Group)

Another Gers man who struggled early on and then came on to a game. Gave everything to the cause. 7

Daniel Candeias

Brilliant play to help get Gers level and bust a gut down the flank all day to keep Celts at bay. 7

Ryan Kent

Scored a sensational goal to grab Gers a lifeline. Selfless display, taking over up top after the Morelos red and put in a superb shift. Incredibly lucky not to get sent off though for lashing out at Brown. 8

Alfredo Morelos

Alfredo Morelos is sent off by referee Bobby Madden (SNS Group)

Rangers needed a hero but their main man let his side down badly by reacting to Brown. A total liability to his team. 1

Subs:

Glen Kamara (for Jack 79) Couldn’t get up to the mad pace. 3

Jermain Defoe (for Candeias 83) Caused a threat late on. 3

Steve Davis (for Arfield 88) Too late to make an impact. 2
