Rangers odds on becoming Invincibles NEXT season as bookmakers deliver Premiership two-in-a-row verdict

Rangers are just 9/1 to complete an unbeaten league campaign next season after being installed as odds-on favourites to retain their title next season.

The Light Blues will lift their first Scottish Premiership trophy in a decade and will be Scottish Premiership Invincibles if they can avoid defeat against Aberdeen at Ibrox in their final fixture.

But Steven Gerrard has already started planning for next season and hopes this is just the first of many - and the bookies are clearly taking notice.

The Gers boss said: “That is in the job description and it is also in my DNA that when you are successful, that is the time to improve.

“You always try and fix the roof when the sun is shining, in my opinion. It is a case of enjoying this moment, of course it is, and we will enjoy it over the summer, but when we come back next season it is about resetting and basically resetting the remit.

“At this club you can’t stand still and one trophy is not enough.”

And with Rangers just 90 minutes from record-book immortality, bookies are already offering odds that they’ll achieve the feat next year.

The Ibrox side are just 9/1 to go through the league unbeaten next season and are odds-on at 4/6 just to make it two-in-a-row.

However, the Irish bookies expect a stronger challenge from their Old Firm rivals, with Celtic also a short 11/10 to take the trophy back next year.

A Paddy Power spokesman said: “With Rangers set to finish the season unbeaten, the chances of the blue side of Glasgow retaining their title next season are getting even more likely.

"But, we’re also interested in the likelihood of them being able to go without defeat for a second season in a row.

“We’ll have to see if Celtic can bounce back next year, and perhaps the highlight of their season won’t be a trip to Dubai.”
