Rangers new boy Fashion Sakala claims he turned down TWO Premier League sides

New Rangers signing Fashion Sakala has claimed he turned down the opportunity to move to TWO different Premier League clubs in order to join the Ibrox club.

Having impressed this season with Belgian side KV Oostende, Sakala has penned a four-year deal with Steven Gerrard 's side following the expiration of his contract, and he'll join up with his new team-mates later this summer.

However, it seems the Gers were somewhat lucky to get their man, with the 24-year-old batting off interest from the cash-rich clubs from south of the border.

Sakala told Studio Ken : “I had a lot of teams interested in me. I had two teams in the Premier League and I met them in England. They explained how they wanted me to play.

“I had two teams from the top five in France - I also met with them.

“But I spoke to Gerrard and after he talked to me, I felt I had to move to Rangers.

“It’s a very big thing, a dream come true for me. Playing for Rangers is better than playing for other teams in the Premier League or France.

“I believe I’ve made the right decision. Even if I had the options again, I’d still make the same decision. I’d still choose Rangers.

“What attracted me to Rangers was how the coach explained what he wanted from me.

“Gerrard talked to me like a real man. I knew he could help me in my career.

“In the Rangers games I’ve watched before Covid, I already had a heart for them because of the fanbase. It’s amazing.

“They’re one of the most successful clubs in the world. They took my heart. I knew this was the club I wanted to join.

“It’s a massive club and I believe with the support Rangers has, I’m taking a very big step in life.

“The only way I can take that step is by working hard for the club and the fans.

“I still have a lot of work to do but the most important thing is to win trophies for the club.

“I need to give value to the club but Rangers and the fans can help me achieve my dreams.”
