Rangers must give Ryan Kent 'everything he wants' as Kris Boyd sends passionate Ibrox stay plea

Kris Boyd has told Rangers to give Ryan Kent everything he wants to stay at Ibrox.

The Light Blues attacker was on the scoresheet last night as Michael Beale maintained his unbeaten run as manager in another five-goal thriller. Once again the Ibrox side showed their ability to come back from a losing position, something they have already done so often under the new regime, to claim all three points.

After the match, Kent delivered an update over his ongoing contract situation at the club as he cited his strong relationship with boss Beale. Former Rangers striker and Sky Sports pundit Boyd says his old club MUST do all they can to retain him to a new contract as he hailed his performances of late as 'excellent'. Alfredo Morelos also landed praise for his role in the win at Rugby Park with two goals and big say in Kent's all important second.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Boyd said: “They’ve got to keep him. They’ve got to give him everything he wants. I’ve said it for weeks, it will probably be the same scenario as Connor Goldson. It might be over the summer that the fans think he’s going to leave and then he stays.

“When you look at Ryan Kent, his performances since Michael has come in have been excellent. He looks more like his old self. The role he is playing is key because a player like him wants touches of the ball.”

On Morelos, he added: The pundit said: “We have seen for a number of years he is a handful. I thought he was excellent in spells and more like his old self, riling players up and putting them off their game.

“That seems to make him play better. He got his two goals and the first one wasn’t an easy finish as the ball was sliding up off the turf.”
