Rangers' mouthwatering Celtic Park title decider as fixture change means Hoops could face dramatic last stand

Rangers are on course to have a chance at winning the Scottish Premiership title at the home of great rivals Celtic after a fixture shuffle.

The SPFL have brought forward matchday 33 of the top flight from the weekend of April 3 to that of February 20 - a slot vacated by the Scottish Cup which will remain in cold storage for a number of weeks yet.

That means there is now another game in front of the derby at Parkhead on March 20 - a match that could confirm Steven Gerrard's men as champions.

Should both sides win all of their games up until that point, that final fixture before the split could wrap up the title.

It would also end the Parkhead club's 10 In A Row dream on their own patch, just three years after they won the seventh league trophy of that run in the exact same fixture with a 5-0 win.

Rangers now require a maximum of eight wins to secure their first top-flight crown in a decade.

After the surprise announcement from the league, they will now face Dundee United at Ibrox on Sunday February 21, while Neil Lennon's men will face Ross County that same night.
