Rangers manager Steven Gerrard gives £240k gift to children's charities

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard’s charity donated more than £238,000 to help sick and disadvantaged children in 2019.

The former Liverpool captain set up the Steven Gerrard Foundation in 2011 to help a range of organisations and projects.

The charity is funded by donations from the boss himself and golf tournaments, dinners and auctions.

New accounts for the foundation show it handed more than £200,000 to the Claire House Children’s Hospice on Merseyside.

It made donations of £12,000 to Rays of Sunshine and £5000 to the Born Too Soon charity.

Gerrard said previously: “All the money we raise helps those who need it the most.”
