Rangers linked with Algerian midfielder once axed from national team squad for bizarre reason

Rangers have been linked with move for Algeria midfielder Haris Belkebla.

Reports coming out of France suggest the Ibrox club could be about to table a bid for the 26-year-old Brest player.

Belkebla, who is under contract until 2022, has had a fantastic season with the Ligue 1 side, who finished 14th after being promoted from the French second tier last season.

And L'Equipe have reported today that he could be on his way to Ibrox soon to bolster Steven Gerrard's options in midfield.

Belkebla, who was born in France but chose to play for Algeria, has one cap for the North African country, which came in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in November.

Bizarrely, he was axed from the Algerian national squad last summer after being called up - for flashing his bum on a Fortnite live stream.

Algeria boss Djamel Belmadi axed the midfielder from his 23-man squad once he found out about the incident.
