Rangers-linked Kenny McLean faces five month lay-off after horror knee injury

Scotland hero Kenny McLean could be on the sidelines for up to five months after a major knee injury.

The Norwich star suffered a meniscus tear in the Canaries win over Middlesbrough last weekend.

The 28-year-old, who has been linked with a January switch to Rangers, will visit a specialist to find out the extent of the injury.

However, Norwich boss Daniel Farke said earlier today that if surgery is required the Cambuslang native could be out until March next year.

He said: "Kenny McLean is also out, we scanned him this morning after he twisted his knee and he has a meniscus tear.

"We will wait for the injury to settle down and he'll see a specialist this week. We will also handle this in a conservative way.

"He will be out for six weeks or if he needs surgery it could be four to five months."

The ex-Aberdeen and St Mirren midfielder has impressed for his country in recent weeks with penalty kicks for the national side in shootout wins over Israel and Serbia.
