Rangers lineup v Celtic predicted as Steven Gerrard left with midfield dilemma

It's a game which could cement Rangers position as the dominant force in Glasgow after an impressive season and Steven Gerrard has some big decisions to make.

There's been a lot of talk about how strong the Rangers midfield is this season but the injury to Ryan Jack and a drop off in form of Scott Arfield since his injury has left a few decisions to make.

The Canada international had been superb for much of the campaign but has struggled to get back to that level since his injury and found himself in and out of the team.

But it's in that position that Rangers have the biggest decision to make, and there's a decision to make between Arfield and Joe Aribo.

The Nigerian is likely to play in one way or another, whether it's as part of the midfield three or pushed up a line in one of the two inside 10 roles.

So that means it's really a choice between Arfield in midfield or Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe as the right 10 but the Canadian offers a more solid base in the middle of the park.

He would help out a bit more defensively with the inexperienced Nathan Patterson and provide a bit more dig that is missing if he's not there.

In goals, it's likely to be Allan McGregor with a back four of Patterson, Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and Borna Barisic.

In midfield, it should be Arfield alongside Steven Davis and Glen Kamara, with a front three of Aribo, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent.

James Tavernier could return to the bench after his injury.

FULL TEAM: McGregor, Patterson, Goldson, Helander, Barisic, Davis, Kamara, Arfield, Aribo, Morelos, Kent

Subs: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Simpson, Bassey, Hagi, Itten, Defoe, Zungu, Wright
