Rangers legend Paul Gascoigne arrives at court for sexual assault trial

Paul Gascoigne has arrived at court where he is due to stand trial over an alleged sexual assault on a train.

The former Rangers player pleaded not guilty in January on a count of sexual assault by touching.

He was cuffed on August 20, 2018 and in November British Transport Police said he was charged after allegedly kissing a woman when travelling on a train between York and Newcastle.

The 52-year-old will now stand trial at Teeside Crown Court in Middlesbrough over the incident which is believed to have taken place in Darlington.

Gascoigne denies that any contact between him and the woman was sexual assault.

The ex-England star was granted bail following the hearing in January.

The trial is expected to last three to four days.
