In a new Instagram post, he said: “They say ‘we all make mistakes’, we say and do things in the heat of the moment that we don’t mean.

“Sadly, I am no exception to this. My post from Tuesday night was borne of malice and anger following too much to drink .

“No one has shown me more unconditional kindness or been more generous to me than my business partner John Campbell.

“I deeply regret my post and hope one day JC will find it in his heart to forgive.”

A number of Rangers supporters gave their backing to Nacho Novo’s calls for boycott of the pub on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spaniard said he ‘foolishly tarnished’ the pub as he continued his apology posted on Friday.

He added: “I must apologise to the good people who work at NN10, I should have given proper consideration to them, before making my unjustified comment and request of Rangers fans to boycott the bar.

“We Rangers fans need more good Rangers bars and there was I, foolishly tarnishing one of the most prominent and one which I helped create.

“I don’t know what I was thinking.

“With the above now off my chest, I am already feeling a whole lot better. Please excuse and forgive me.”
