Rangers legend makes heart-warming gesture that leaves former Ibrox star 'embarrassed' after living Govan dream

It's pleasing for him that Rangers legends keep him involved - but Colin Miller sometimes feels like a pawn amongst kings.

The Canadian football legend declared citizenship in Canada after his time in Scottish football with Rangers, Hamilton, St Johnstone, Dunfermline, Hearts and Ayr United.

Growing up just outside Shotts as an Ibrox supporter, his two years at his boyhood club between 1984-86 are a couple of seasons he cherishes the most.

While not making many appearances at Rangers, legends of the club like East Kilbride's Ally McCoist have still get him involved in WhatsApp chats.

It's a gesture that the 57-year-old, speaking on the Lanarkshire Live Sport Podcast , appreciates fully. His tag as an ex-player in Govan is something that's embraced too.

He said: "Every article and every time someone introduces me, it's always as Colin Miller, the former Rangers player. Once you feel that way about a club, supporters gravitate to that.

"There was something special playing for the club you and your family supported, but I get embarrassed on the WhatsApp chat with Ally McCoist, Derek Ferguson, these guys.

"They are proper Rangers players, few have heard of Colin Miller! But they tell me once I am a Ranger, I am always a Ranger.

"I've also spoken at a few Rangers clubs here in Canada. It is incredible."
