Kenny Miller admitted he was proud of his team after his first-ever European match as manager ended in his Maccabi Tel Aviv side romping to a statement win.
The former Old Firm and Scotland star was appointed as permanent boss of the Israeli club this summer after guiding them to a Cup triumph while caretaker.
And Miller's men eased to a 5-0 victory in the Europa League in Moldova against former Champions League group stage side Sheriff Tiraspol. He said: "I have played in many, many games in European football, but it was a different challenge for my first game as a manager.

"The weather in Chisinau when we got off the plane reminded me of Scotland because it was raining, so that was a good omen too. We knew it would be a tough game against a big club and we needed to bring our best performance, and we certainly did that.
"We scored five goals and could have scored even more, so we are very happy with the result and the performance. It's a result we deserved; there's no doubt about that.
"Ultimately, it was a fantastic away performance in Europe, and you can't be disappointed with a 5-0 victory. We need to continue to build this momentum going forward."
