Rangers legend Andy Goram "just one of the boys" at Cambuslang, say co-managers

Rangers legend Andy Goram has settled in seamlessly at Somervell Park after taking on a coaching role at Cambuslang Rangers, according to the club's management duo.

Camby co-gaffers Billy Campbell and Paul McColl sprung a bit of a coup at the start of the season when they managed to entice the legendary Ibrox nine-in-a-row hero to get the gloves back on and help their push for promotion in the West of Scotland League.

'The Goalie' is working closely with Camby No.1 Andy Wilson and it seems to be paying off with the club top of Conference B and Wilson keeping six consecutive clean sheets in recent games.

One more clean sheet would see Wilson equal a club record.

And during a behind the scenes video feature with Lanarkshire Live Sport Campbell said:: "He [Goram] came in and he just fitted right in.

"Paul and I treat the boys well, we make sure we try to get them everything they need and maybe that wee bit of success we've shown so far is bearing fruit because of that.

"He slotted straight in and he's just one of the boys.

"He's not The Goalie or Andy Goram to us, he's our goalie coach and he's part of our management team.

"We are with him enough to understand how he works now as well."

It was McColl who played a major role in bringing Goram to the club and he's been impressed with the strides made by Wilson, who was crowned the club's player of the month for October.

McColl explained: "I met Andy some years ago when I was running a pub in Kinning Park. He was working in the pub and I got pally with him and took it from there.

"I asked him one day what he was up to, do you want to come and do some coaching and it was great to get him on board.

"He's a cracking guy.

"He's professional as anything, he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty, picking cones up, picking balls up.

"Our goalkeeper Andy [Wilson] has come on leaps and bounds - and that's through the big man.

"He's got a few clean sheets under his belt now and that's partly thanks to the legendary Goalie."
