Rangers legend Ally McCoist one of the favourites to enter I'm a Celeb jungle

Bookies have tipped Ally McCoist as one of the favourites to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle later this year.

Bookmaker Boylesports have slashed the odds on the Rangers legend entering the jungle from 10/1 to 5/1.

It comes after a host of Scots punters gave McCoist plenty of local support over the counter.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Rangers legend Ally McCoist is the club’s record goalscorer netting 355 goals and the 57-year-old former footballer could be heading on a trip Down Under.”

The former Scotland striker is among a list of Scots who could potentially enter the popular ITV reality show.

Recently-resigned Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson is 3/1 to enter the jungle, while odds on TV host Lorraine Kelly heading Down Under is 5/2.

Love Island’s Laura Anderson, Britain’s Got Talent winner Susan Boyle, singer Lewis Capaldi and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey are other Scottish names tipped to potentially enter the programme.

Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow and BBC’s Stacey Dooley have also been tipped to potentially take part in the show.

Boylesports added: “John Bercow has become a popular choice with punters to take part in the new series of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here with his odds trimmed into 7/1 from 33/1.

“Jamie Laing is another possibility who is receiving plenty of support with his odds now 10/3 from 10/1.”
