Rangers legend Ally McCoist discovers a deer in his latest nature commentary

"There you go guys.

"5.30, Thursday morning. I haven't seen him for a while. He's normally got two of his pals with him.

"But a deer. He can hear me. His hearing is unbelievable."

David Attenborough has had a good run, but as the years accumulate there's always a younger rival ready to step up.

For Roger Federer, that man was Rafael Nadal. For Attenborough, that man is Ally McCoist.

When he's not sparring with Chris Sutton on BT Sport or providing comprehensive Russian travel guides on ITV, McCoist is often to be found commentating on the various forms of wildlife that find themselves in his garden.

Earlier in the lockdown, Rangers legend McCoist alerted his Instagram followers to the presence of a woodpecker on his property, saying: "That is a greater spotted woodpecker, I'm NOT joking."

This morning, there was an even more impressive sight. McCoist shared a video on Instagram with the caption: "A deer, feasting on a vegetable patch, in the garden at 5.30 on a Thursday morning!!!!! Magic. Love it."

The former Scotland international filmed for over four minutes while providing a soothing narration in hushed tones.

Listen Darrell, I have to tell you it's the most relaxing video you'll watch all day.
