Rangers legend Ally McCoist delights fans as he watches hometown team take on former club Kilmarnock

Ally McCoist has been used to taking in the cream of the crop at Euro 2020 of late, but the Rangers legend got his football fix much close to home this afternoon.

East Kilbride's famous son has been lauded for his co-commentary with Clyde Tyldesley on ITV's coverage of the Euros and, ahead of tomorrow's final between England and Italy, fans have been left dismayed that his dulcet tones won't be accompanying the showpiece at Wembley.

So with McCoist having some free time on his hands, the Ibrox icon was able to take in his hometown team, East Kilbride face, his old side Kilmarnock at K-Park.

The striker was in the stands as fans returned to K-Park for a competitive match for the first time since March 2020 and some fans were fortunate enough to grab a snap with McCoist.

He was joined by fellow ex-Rangers and Killie striker Kris Boyd, while another Ibrox legend, Ian Durrant, was in the dugout for the home side as part of Stevie Aitken's management team.

And McCoist will surely have had mixed emotions as he watched Kilmarnock, whom he played with from 1998 to 2001, inflict a 2-0 defeat on his local side in the Premier Sports Cup.

In the end, second half goals from Fraser Murray and Jason Naismith proved the difference and Ally was on hand to pose for pictures with star-struck fans at K-Park.
