Rangers legend Ally McCoist admits he can’t bring himself to look at Celtic Park

As a player Ally McCoist often wore a smile as wide as the Clyde as he strutted his stuff at Celtic Park.

But now the legendary Rangers striker can’t even bring himself to look at the stadium.

McCoist netted 27 times against Celtic during a fabled career, with many of those coming in Glasgow’s East End.

One of the most iconic pictures of the goal machine is of him celebrating his goal in front of the away fans during the 1998 Scottish Cup semi-final as he helped send his side to the showpiece event.

On his knees and with tears of joys filling his eyes, McCoist is a picture of emotion.

But now a different feeling fills him as he drives along the M74.

You see, the 56-year-old daren’t look at the imposing ground.

McCoist told listeners on talkSPORT: “When I’m on that new stretch of motorway that takes you the other side of Glasgow, I look the other way.

“If Celtic Park is on my left, I can’t even look at it. I look to the right-hand side!”
