Rangers left playing Europa League guessing game as Prishtina and St Joseph's can't be separated

Prishtina were held to a 1-1 draw at home by St Joseph's to leave Rangers playing the waiting game on who they will face in their Europa League first round qualifier.

Armend Dallku netted the opener for the Kosovans before the visitors battled back. Juan Penaloza nabbed a crucial away goal for the Gibraltar side ahead of next week's return.

Rangers will travel to the home of their opponents on 11 July before the return leg in Glasgow seven days later.

Meanwhile, Progres Niederkorn remain on course for a return dust-up with the Ibrox side after they defeated Cardiff Met University in their pre-qualifier on Thursday.

(Progres could be the opponents in qualifying round two)

The Luxembourg side secured a narrow 1-0 over their Welsh opponents thanks to Mayron De Almeida's strike in the 62nd minute.

The winners of the tie will face Cork City in the the first qualifying round and the successful side will take on Steven Gerrard 's men, if they can overcome their opening round tie.

Rangers are aiming to reach the group stage for a second consecutive season after the Light Blues won four consecutive qualifiers last time out.

A thrilling run almost led to a place in the last 32 of the tournament but a narrow defeat to Rapid Vienna extinguished their hopes of a place in the knockouts.
