Rangers will face Malmo in the Champions League third qualifying round after the Swedes saw off HJK Helsinki with a 2-2 draw in Finland.
The two sides learned in the last draw that the winners would face Steven Gerrard 's champions.
The first leg was cagey in Sweden but it was Malmo who took the advantage with Antonio Colak and Anders Christiansen firing them to a 2-1 win.
The tie was poised on a knife-edge heading into the crucial clash in Finland, and it was level on aggregate within the opening seconds when Miro Tenho struck for the hosts.
But Malmo battled back and looked to be in cruise control heading into the final ten.

It was Christiansen who ran the show once more, firing in the equaliser before Veljko Birmancevic came off the bench to give them a commanding lead.
But Helsinki, the former club of Rangers star Alfredo Morelos, just wouldn't lie down.
An equaliser on the night from Roope Riski set up a photo-finish and the Finns pressed desperately for an aggregate equaliser.
But Malmo held on to reach the third qualifying round.
Best known to fans in Scotland as the side who put seven past Hibs in 2013, Malmo are no strangers to Scottish opposition in Europe.
They've faced both Celtic and Rangers in the relatively recent past and eliminated the Gers at the third qualifying stage of the 2011/12 Champions League.
Gerrard and his team will be out to ensure there's no repeat of that one in 2021.
