Rangers launch Castore keeper kit as fans joke Jimmy Bell has his work cut out

Rangers have released their goalkeeper strip for the 2020/21 season - and it's going down a treat with fans.

The first offering from new kit manufacturer Castore designed to be worn between the sticks has landed and it's a big difference from the standard goalie tops from other manufacturers.

Many modern designs opt for a flourescent, easily-identifiable number for their keepers, ones that rarely sell in club shops.

But Rangers and Castore have gone down a different tack.

A mostly white design with red trim and subtle blue detailing was unveiled on Twitter on Wednesday, with veteran stopper Allan McGregor modelling.

@OhItsSteely simply said: "Wow." while @michaelrfc72 added: "What a kit."

@marklarmour94 looks forward to wearing it out and about as he said: "Make them in short sleeve".

And @sea_ibrox agreed: "Loving that kit buying that defos".

Some fans were fearing, however, that club kitman Jimmy Bell might have his work cut out keeping the new strip looking fresh after 90 minutes of McGregor or new keeper Jon McLaughlin diving around.

@OAFCThomas said: "Will be a totally different colour by the end of the game".

Rangers' new deal with Liverpool-based Castore was announced in May and the new home kit was released for pre-order last week.

Steven Gerrard 's men will wear the brand this coming season asa they try to stop Celtic from winning 10 In A Row.

The new design comes as the Ibrox club released an updated version of their badge.
