Rangers kit supplier Castore make Roma bid as they look to expand football portfolio

Castore are looking to add Roma as their second football club.

The Liverpool-based kit suppliers currently only make Rangers strips in football while also having deals with the likes of Andy Murray and the West Indies cricket team.

But now they are reportedly looking to add Italian giants Roma to their portfolio by tabling a bid to replace New Balance.

SportsPro media say Castore have tabled a ‘digital-focused’ offer that they hope will beat New Balance.

Roma are on the lookout for a new partner when their deal with Nike runs out and it looks like it will be a battle between Castore and New Balance.

Despite high sales for Rangers kits, with more than 100,000 shirts sold within the first month, criticism has been aimed at the company because of quality issues.

Many supporters were frustrated by issues on the shirts, with some even reporting that badges had began falling off after just one wash.

The initial deal was hailed by Rangers and fans with it reportedly worth around £25million over the course of the contract with the Premiership giants.

The sportswear brand are set to open a shop in Glasgow next month after agreeing a rental lease for a store in Buchanan Galleries.
