Rangers youngster Josh McPake made a winning start to his loan spell at Morecambe - as Shrimps gaffer and former Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson was hailed by fans to the sound of Scotland anthem 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie.'
The league season in England got underway yesterday and the Shrimps made the perfect start to their League One campaign with a 2-0 win over Shrewsbury.
Coatbridge ace McPake, who signed a two-year extension at Ibrox in the summer before going out on loan, played 77 minutes on his competitive debut after a pre-season hampered by a hamstring injury.

The 19-year-old took to Twitter afterwards to say: "Massive performance from the lads today", with fans replying with compliments including "Impressed me a lot mate, your dribbling is a joke" and "Great performance from you. Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Looking forward to the next game already."
Fresh from his arrival at the Mazuma Stadium in June, Robinson also endeared himself to the fans with the comfortable victory.
The fans showed their appreciation with a chant inspired by the Baccara hit and Scotland's Euro anthem, singing: Oooooh! Yes sir, I can boogie, but I need Ste Robinson."
It was the first time the supporters had seen a league match for 17 months and the Northern Irishman loved being back in front of a crowd.
He told Morecambe's website: "It is enjoyable again, winning or losing, getting stick or getting praise, it is real football.
“The backing from the fans today was incredible, the second-half when they see a group of boys press like they did today, they are going to make mistakes, everyone makes mistake.

“But when they see the lads perform like they did today, they will get behind us 100% and that is exactly what they did.”
Robinson and McPake will be back in action on Tuesday night when the Shrimps face Rotherham, who signed Hakeem Odoffin from Hamilton Accies earlier this month.
